I am so excited to be in the world of education! I love to meet new people, hear new stories, and explore new backgrounds. We all come with our own story. My plan is to allow my students to use their backgrounds and stories for their learning. My choice in becoming an educator stems from my personal learning experiences. My matriculation through grade school and universities has taught me that we are all students; learning never ends and we all learn in our own special way. I will facilitate students’ learning and nurture the power within them so that it may grow into an unstoppable force for learning, their success, and for the greater good of our community.
Educators must hone a number of strategies that use assessments, literacy, technology, and a host of other tools to hook and engage the students in their content areas. Even after that, educators must work on transferring the information across contents, but none of this can be done without creating a classroom atmosphere that encourages the students to discover more. To achieve my objectives of facilitating personal learning, I will create an environment that promotes creativity by creating lessons based off of their interest, building relationships with the students through multicultural pedagogy, activating their intrinsic motivation, and utilizing meaningful technology that drives the creativity and critical thinking of the student.
Entering the education field in this day and age urges the use of engaging strategies and technological tools. Incorporating the use of technology in my science lessons is a major goal. Technology for learning can promote creativity, communication, collaboration, and critical thinking when used effectively. Whether students are creating presentations, wikis, blogs, digital models, or their own webpages, they will be able to build their own technological toolkit that helps them display their knowledge and creativity.
